Angel Tree

Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. It seeks to transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father and each other. In Matthew 18:5 Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” There are children in most communities who are among the most at-risk children in the nation. Angel Tree provides an opportunity to connect with those families and begin ministering to them at Christmas and then continue through a variety of year-round ministry opportunities.

Chaplain Ray Hoekstra began International Prison Ministry in 1972. 700,000 prisoners are released back into society each year; 67 percent of them will be re-arrested. This number shows what little hope inmates have outside of prison walls. Prison Fellowship works to share God’s love with these men and women and help disciple and equip them for life outside the walls. Prison Discipleship collaborates with churches, volunteers, and ministries to recruit, train, and support those who enter the prisons to share God’s love and hope.
