Action Aid
Action Aid is an international anti-poverty agency whose aim is to fight poverty worldwide. Formed in 1972, for over 30 years they have been growing and expanding to where they are today—helping over 13 million of the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people in 42 countries worldwide. In all of their country programs they work with local partners to make the most of their knowledge and experience.
Adventist Development & Relief Agency
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency was initiated by the Seventh-day Adventist church. The basis for its existence, its reason for being, is to follow Christ’s example by being a voice for, serving, and partnering with those in need. ADRA seeks to identify and address social injustice and deprivation in developing countries. The agency’s work seeks to improve the quality of life of those in need. ADRA invests in the potential of these individuals through community development initiatives targeting food security, economic development, primary health and basic education. ADRA’s emergency management initiatives provide aid to disaster survivors.

Africa Aid builds innovative poverty-alleviation programs that empower African families, communities and countries, while forging partnerships with American universities to support their cutting-edge aid programs.

American International Health Alliance
The American International Health Alliance is a nonprofit organization working to advance global health by helping communities and nations with limited resources build sustainable institutional and human resource capacity. Through twinning partnerships and other programs, they provide technical assistance using the knowledge and skills of experienced physicians, nurses, administrators, educators, allied health professionals, and civic leaders. Their programs address critical issues such as HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, maternal and child health, primary care, emergency and disaster preparedness, and health professions education and development.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross (also known as the American National Red Cross) is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education inside the United States, and is the designated U.S. affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; communications services and comfort for military members and their family members; the collection, processing and distribution of blood and blood products; educational programs on health and safety; and international relief and development programs.
American Refugee Committee International
ARC works with its partners and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities. They help people survive conflict and crisis and rebuild lives of dignity, health, security and self-sufficiency. ARC is committed to the delivery of programs that ensure measurable quality and lasting impact for the people they serve. ARC works in 7 countries around the world helping victims of war and civil conflict rebuild their lives. ARC programs in Africa and Asia provided health care, clean water, shelter repair, legal aid, trauma counseling, micro-credit, community development services, and repatriation assistance.
amfAR AIDS Research
Founded in 1985, amfAR is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. With the freedom and flexibility to respond quickly to emerging areas of scientific promise, amfAR plays a catalytic role in accelerating the pace of HIV/AIDS research and achieving real breakthroughs. AmfAR-funded research has increased understanding of HIV and has helped lay the groundwork for major advances in the study and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Since 1985, amfAR has invested nearly $290 million in its mission and has awarded grants to more than 2,000 research teams worldwide.
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Guided by the belief that every life has equal value, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation works to help all people lead healthy, productive lives. In developing countries, they focus on improving people’s health and giving them the chance to lift themselves out of hunger and extreme poverty. In the United States, they seek to ensure that all people—especially those with the fewest resources—have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life.

Bright Hope
Bright Hope’s focus is to serve the poorest people in the world—those living on less than one dollar a day. They often serve in remote villages and towns where there are no resources except for loving Christian leaders who want to help lift their communities out of the crushing effects of severe poverty and give them hope for a better future. Their methodology is to find these God-honoring people—indigenous church pastors and ministry leaders who are currently serving the poor in their communities—and doing it well.
CARE
CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. They place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE’s community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.

Center for Interfaith Action
The mission of The Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty is to improve the capacity and effectiveness of the faith community in its collective effort to reduce global poverty and disease. CIFA does this through increased interfaith coordination, best practices and model sharing, innovative mobilization of resources and influential advocacy to governments and the general public.

CORE Group
CORE Group fosters collaborative action and learning to advance the effectiveness and scale of community-focused public health practices. Established in 1997, CORE Group is a membership association based in Washington D.C., comprised of citizen-supported NGOs that work internationally in resource-poor settings to improve the health of mothers, children, and communities. CORE Group’s 48-member organizations work in more than 180 countries.
Direct Relief International
Direct Relief International provides medical assistance to improve the quality of life for people affected by poverty, disaster, and civil unrest at home and throughout the world. Family Health International
Formed in 1971, Family Health International is among the largest and most established nonprofit organizations active in international public health with a mission to improve lives worldwide through research, education, and services in family health.
Global Health Council
The Global Health Council works to ensure that all who strive for improvement and equity in global health have the information and resources they need to succeed. To achieve this goal, the Council serves as the voice for action on global health issues and the voice for progress in the global health field. The Council informs and educates opinion leaders, policy-makers, the media and concerned citizens about crucial global health issues. Helen Keller International
Founded in 1915, Helen Keller International is among the oldest international nonprofit organizations devoted to fighting and treating preventable blindness and malnutrition. HKI is headquartered in New York City, and has programs in 21 countries in Africa and Asia as well as in the United States. HKI builds local capacity by establishing sustainable programs, and provides scientific and technical assistance and data to governments and international, regional, national and local organizations around the world.
Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch is one of the world’s leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights. By focusing international attention where human rights are violated, they give voice to the oppressed and hold oppressors accountable for their crimes.
IMA World Health
IMA World Health is a nonprofit organization providing health care services and supplies to vulnerable and marginalized people. They are a faith-based organization working primarily in the developing world, where an estimated 30 to 60 percent of health care is provided by FBOs. Incorporated in 1960 as Interchurch Medical Assistance, their work has always supported the international health missions of their Member Agencies. Their expertise has grown, and today IMA helps communities, regions, and even entire nations to build and strengthen their own health care systems. IMA’s goal is not to foster dependence on foreign assistance, but rather to promote self-reliance and sustainable solutions.
International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care
Healthcare professionals and civic leaders who recognized an urgent need for a coordinated medical response to the AIDS pandemic established the International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care in 1995. At that time, there was no agency exclusively devoted to marshaling the coordinated strength of healthcare professionals worldwide to the benefit of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. IAPAC represents a professional membership of 12,000-plus physicians and other healthcare professionals in over 100 countries.
International Relief & Development
IRD’s mission is to reduce the suffering of the world’s most vulnerable groups and provide tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency. They accomplish their mission by running targeted, cost-effective relief and development programs that improve the lives of these vulnerable groups. They work in regions of the world that present social, political, and technical challenges, and particularly specialize in helping communities going through and coming out of conflict and war to recover and improve.
International Rescue Committee
The IRC is a recognized leader in humanitarian emergencies. When thousands flee war or repression, the IRC is immediately on the ground to make sure lifesaving help gets to those who need it. They provide shelter, clean water, healthcare, and education to displaced people. Most importantly, IRC works with refugees to make sure they survive their exile in dignity.
IntraHealth International
IntraHealth has served the public health needs of developing countries for almost 30 years. Founded as the Intrah program at the University of North Carolina, IntraHealth was incorporated as an independent non-profit business in 2003. They have worked in more than 50 countries, with the support of the U.S. government, foundations, corporations and individuals.
Lutheran World Relief
Lutheran World Relief works with partners in 35 countries to help people grow food, improve health, strengthen communities, end conflict, build livelihoods and recover from disasters.
New Life International
New Life International, Inc. is a Christian outreach organization dedicated to humanitarian and developmental activities. One of the largest outreach programs of New Life International is to provide safe water to the world.

PATH

Physicians for Human Rights
PHR was founded in 1986 on the idea that health professionals, with their specialized skills, ethical duties, and credible voices, are uniquely positioned to investigate the health consequences of human rights violations and work to stop them. PHR mobilizes health professionals to advance health, dignity, and justice and promotes the right to health for all. They are a non-profit, non-sectarian organization funded through private foundations and by individual donors.

Refugees International
Refugees International advocates for lifesaving assistance and protection for displaced people and promotes solutions to displacement crises. Refugees International was started in 1979 as a citizens’ movement to protect Indochinese refugees. Since then, they have expanded to become the leading advocacy organization that provokes action from global leaders to resolve refugee crises.
Rotary International
Rotary International is an organization of service clubs known as Rotary Clubs located worldwide. It is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed or political preference. There are more than 32,000 clubs and over 1.2 million members worldwide. The stated purpose of the organization is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Sabin Vaccine Institute
The Sabin Vaccine Institute is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, non-governmental organization which advocates for the control of both infectious diseases such as measles, tetanus, pertussis, tuberculosis, and polio, and of Neglected Tropical Diseases such as shistosomiasis, trachoma, and onchocerciasis, diseases of low incidence that occur predominantly in developing countries in the tropics. SVI promotes research and development of low-cost vaccinations and preventable drug therapies for NTDs.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is an integral part of the Christian Church, although distinctive in government and practice. The Army’s doctrine follows the mainstream of Christian belief and its articles of faith emphasize God’s saving purposes. Its objects are ‘the advancement of the Christian religion… of education, the relief of poverty, and other charitable objects beneficial to society or the community of mankind as a whole.’ The movement, founded in 1865 by William Booth, has spread from London, England, to many parts of the world.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

TEARFUND
