Each year in August, the International Ministries of Assemblies of God World Missions hosts a Compassion Forum designed to provide a venue to present the best possible speakers involved in ministries of compassion, materials and information, and networking opportunities between missionaries of all regions to become more familiar with each other and ways of ministry.
The first forum was held in Dallas, Texas in August of 2006. It was a learning experience, not only for the attendees but also for the host team from International Ministries. As a result, the 2007 and 2008 events had a much more interactive focus, with many opportunities for involvement, breakout sessions, regional applications, and times of Questions & Answers with presenters. All of the presentation documents and PowerPoints are available as PDF files. Click on the Forum 2008 tab to find the files.
The response from the attendees was unanimous that the new format was much improved and made definite impacts in their lives and ministries. Both veterans and candidates came away with tools and new contacts in which to further and expand their ministries.
The 2009 forum is in the detailed planning stages. More information is being posted on the Forum 2009 tab as details are finalized. We want to invite all veteran and candidate missionaries that have involvement with compassion ministries to attend, as well as those that foresee a potential involvement in these types of ministries in their future assignments. Please note it does require the advance approval of your regional director. Upon receiving approval, just notify us and we will add you to our contact list to make sure you receive all details pertaining to the forum.
